Kari’s Law mandates that anyone dialing 911 from a multi-line telephone system (MLTS) must be able to connect directly to emergency services without dialing an extra prefix or access code. It also requires that designated personnel receive instant alerts when a 911 call is placed, ensuring faster emergency response and improved coordination.
Signed into law: On February 16, 2018. Went into effect in February 2020.
